Serving Berne, Decatur & Geneva
Berne is about 52 miles from our Waterloo, IN location, which makes Wakarusa Heavy Equipment one of the closest full-service rental and sales companies for contractors and property owners in the area. We rent skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, rollers, and haul trucks from a growing fleet of machines, all backed by our own in-house service department.
Being family-owned and operated means Berne customers deal directly with people who know the equipment and the job sites — from picking the right machine to keeping it running through the length of your rental. We also stock loaner machines you didn't rent or buy from us. We're also a Takeuchi dealer, so Berne customers can get genuine Takeuchi parts and service here too.
Why Berne Contractors Choose Us
Equipment for Berne and Adams County
Berne is known for its Swiss heritage and a large Amish community, with furniture makers and other manufacturers alongside Adams County farmland. That mix brings steady demand for farm drainage, building pads, and lane work, plus commercial and residential site prep. Our fleet of skid steers, excavators, dozers, and wheel loaders covers it all.
It's about 52 miles from our Waterloo location, so call ahead and we'll have your machine ready, or ask about delivery. Every rental comes with support from our own in-house service department, not a call center, so a mechanical question gets answered by someone who actually knows the machine. We're also a factory-authorized Takeuchi dealer, so genuine parts and trained technicians are part of the deal.

Customer Testimonials
"I usually work on my own equipment. My Takeuchi Skid Steer had a few issues that had compiled, and eventually it developed a no crank no start issue. Me and my buddies spent days trying to figure it out. I finally dropped it off to Wakarusa, and they figured it out way quicker than I expected, way more things than I even realized were bad, and for an incredibly reasonable rate. These guys are quick and I will certainly be back! I may even take stuff to them before I try to fix it myself next time."
