Via SR-15, our Waterloo, IN location is about 41 miles from Defiance, making Wakarusa Heavy Equipment one of the closest full-service rental and sales companies for contractors and property owners in the area. We rent skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, rollers, and haul trucks from a growing fleet of machines, all backed by our own in-house service department.
As a family-owned and operated company, Defiance customers deal directly with people who know the equipment and the job sites — from picking the right machine to keeping it running through the length of your rental. We also stock loaner machines you didn't rent or buy from us. We're also a Takeuchi dealer, so Defiance customers can get genuine Takeuchi parts and service here too.
Why Defiance Contractors Choose Us
Serving Defiance Where the Rivers Meet
Defiance is the Defiance County seat, built where the Maumee and Auglaize rivers meet, and home to a major GM casting plant. That means steady industrial and commercial work alongside residential builds and farm projects across northwest Ohio. We keep excavators, dozers, compact track loaders, and haul trucks ready, with flexible daily, weekly, and monthly terms.
It's about 41 miles from our Waterloo location, so call ahead and we'll have your machine ready, or ask about delivery. Every rental comes with support from our own in-house service department, not a call center, so a mechanical question gets answered by someone who actually knows the machine. We're also a factory-authorized Takeuchi dealer, so genuine parts and trained technicians are part of the deal.

Customer Testimonials
"I usually work on my own equipment. My Takeuchi Skid Steer had a few issues that had compiled, and eventually it developed a no crank no start issue. Me and my buddies spent days trying to figure it out. I finally dropped it off to Wakarusa, and they figured it out way quicker than I expected, way more things than I even realized were bad, and for an incredibly reasonable rate. These guys are quick and I will certainly be back! I may even take stuff to them before I try to fix it myself next time."
