Buchanan, Niles & Galien Coverage
Buchanan is about 38 miles from our Wakarusa, IN location, making Wakarusa Heavy Equipment one of the closest full-service rental and sales companies for contractors and property owners in the area. We rent skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, rollers, and haul trucks from a growing fleet of machines, all backed by our own in-house service department.
We run a family-owned and operated business, so Buchanan customers deal directly with people who know the equipment and the job sites — from picking the right machine to keeping it running through the length of your rental. We also stock loaner machines you didn't rent or buy from us. We're also a Takeuchi dealer, so Buchanan customers can get genuine Takeuchi parts and service here too.
Why Buchanan Contractors Choose Us
Equipment for Buchanan and the St. Joseph River
Buchanan sits on the St. Joseph River in southern Berrien County, just west of Niles. Contractors here work on riverfront and hillside lots, residential builds, and farm projects across southwest Michigan. Mini excavators and compact track loaders handle tight or sloped lots, and larger excavators and dozers cover bigger site work.
Our Wakarusa location is about 38 miles away, so same-day pickup is an easy trip. Every machine goes out serviced by our own in-house technicians, and if something comes up mid-rental, you'll reach the team that knows it best. We're also a factory-authorized Takeuchi dealer, with genuine parts and trained techs on hand.

Customer Testimonials
"I usually work on my own equipment. My Takeuchi Skid Steer had a few issues that had compiled, and eventually it developed a no crank no start issue. Me and my buddies spent days trying to figure it out. I finally dropped it off to Wakarusa, and they figured it out way quicker than I expected, way more things than I even realized were bad, and for an incredibly reasonable rate. These guys are quick and I will certainly be back! I may even take stuff to them before I try to fix it myself next time."
