La Porte, Michigan City & Westville Rentals
La Porte sits about 48 miles from our Wakarusa, IN location, making Wakarusa Heavy Equipment one of the closest full-service rental and sales companies for contractors and property owners in the area. We rent skid steers, dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, rollers, and haul trucks from a growing fleet of over 500 machines, all backed by our own in-house service department.
Since we're family-owned and operated, La Porte customers deal directly with people who know the equipment and the job sites — from picking the right machine to keeping it running through the length of your rental. We also handle equipment sales and service work on machines you didn't rent or buy from us. We're also a Takeuchi dealer, so La Porte customers can get genuine Takeuchi parts and service here too.
Why La Porte Contractors Choose Us
Equipment for La Porte's Lakes and Job Sites
La Porte is the La Porte County seat and is ringed by lakes, including Pine Lake and Stone Lake, so lakefront landscaping, shoreline access work, and new home builds are common alongside commercial and industrial projects. Mini excavators, compact track loaders, and skid steers with grapples and buckets handle tight lake lots, while larger excavators and dozers cover bigger site work.
It's about 48 miles from our Wakarusa location, so plan your pickup or ask about delivery. Every rental comes with support from our own in-house service department, not a call center, so a mechanical question gets answered by someone who actually knows the machine. We're also a factory-authorized Takeuchi dealer, so genuine parts and trained technicians are part of the deal.

Customer Testimonials
"I usually work on my own equipment. My Takeuchi Skid Steer had a few issues that had compiled, and eventually it developed a no crank no start issue. Me and my buddies spent days trying to figure it out. I finally dropped it off to Wakarusa, and they figured it out way quicker than I expected, way more things than I even realized were bad, and for an incredibly reasonable rate. These guys are quick and I will certainly be back! I may even take stuff to them before I try to fix it myself next time."
