Question 1

Can I tow a mini excavator with my pickup?

Accepted Answer

Our 2,370 to 4,000 lb mini excavators fit on a standard equipment trailer behind a half-ton or three-quarter-ton pickup. The 11,000 to 15,000 lb machines need a heavy tandem or tilt trailer and a one-ton truck, so most customers have us deliver those. We rent equipment trailers too, or will load you at either yard.

Question 2

What size mini excavator do I need for a backyard project?

Accepted Answer

A 2,370 lb mini excavator fits through a 36 inch gate and is ideal for stumps, footings, drainage and small trenches in a finished yard. The 4,000 lb class digs deeper and faster for septic, utility and pool work. For foundations, larger ponds and demolition, step up to our 11,000 to 15,000 lb models or a full-size crawler excavator. Our mini excavator class guide walks through the choice.

Question 3

Do you sell the mini excavators you rent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As an authorized Takeuchi dealer we sell new TB210R, TB216, TB225 and TB240 mini excavators, and we regularly retire low-hour rental units for sale at our Wakarusa and Waterloo, IN locations. See our used mini excavators page or ask about financing on a new machine.
